- ➤ Joliet City Council approved a five-year lease for Casa Catrina Mexican Heritage Cuisine at Union Station—set to open as soon as license approvals are received. The restaurant will reopen the old brewery space, may bring back its brewmaster Dan Rosenberg, and is expected to generate $696,000 for the city over five years. Herald-News

- ➤ Cirque Musica Holiday Wonderland will visit Rialto Square Theatre on November 26 to launch the holiday season with acrobatic feats and seasonal music. The show will feature new costumes, music, and cirque acts — marking the most spectacular edition in its 16-year history. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Kevin (Kollins) Hedemark, the public information officer and longtime lieutenant with the sheriff’s auxiliary unit, died and was honored with a top award for more than 4,000 volunteer hours. The sheriff’s office said his death deeply affects his coworkers and the community. Herald-News
- ➤ The Illinois Department of Transportation announced that beginning tonight, lane closures will occur on I-80 from Ridge Road in Minooka to U.S. Route 30 in Joliet and New Lenox for pavement shifts scheduled over two nights. Drivers should expect delays and follow flaggers and posted signs, with work between Ridge and Shepley roads continuing through December. Herald-News

- ➤ Lockport and Waubonsie Valley played a 4A sectional varsity volleyball game at Joliet West on Nov. 4. Lockport's Emma Consigny made a key pass that marked an important moment for her team. Herald-News
- ➤ Local schools made history in the playoffs as Clifton Central’s senior quarterback Brady Shule set school records by throwing for 370 yards and three touchdowns in a win over Knoxville while Bishop McNamara, Bradley-Bourbonnais and Kankakee earned their first playoff wins together this season. Multiple teams now advance to quarterfinal matchups and will face challenging opponents this weekend. Herald-News
- ➤ On November 4, Joliet West hosted Oswego in a 4A sectional varsity volleyball game. Joliet West's Lina Govoni tapped the ball over the net as her team battled in a competitive contest. Herald-News
- ➤ Providence and Lemont won their Class 3A Kankakee Sectional matches, with Providence defeating Evergreen Park and Lemont beating Marian in straight sets+ the two teams will meet in a championship match on Thursday. Herald-News
