- ➤ Joliet Township High School District 204 honored students for AP and National Merit awards at its October board meeting, recognizing achievements at Joliet Central and Joliet West schools. The awards include AP Scholar, AP Scholar with Honor, AP Scholar with Distinction, National Merit Commended Scholar and National Merit Scholarship Program Semifinalist—reflecting strong academic performance. GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Starting today, the city of Joliet is closing the northbound lane on Broadway from Marble Street to Ruby and the eastbound left-turn lane from Ruby onto Broadway until Nov. 17—traffic moving into and out of downtown stays open. Motorists are advised to follow local detour routes while the Broadway Street Water Main Improvement Project continues. Herald-News

- ➤ Lincoln-Way Central defeated Reavis 49-7 in a 7A playoff game Friday night—senior Lucas Andresen scored three touchdowns and key interceptions helped secure the win. Coach Dave Woodburn said the team rested many regulars in the final quarter to prepare for their next match against St. Rita. Herald-News
