CULTURE NEWS

  • British guitarist Steve Hackett will perform a show that celebrates the 50th anniversary of Genesis's album The Lamb Lies Down on Broadway at Rialto Square Theatre in downtown Joliet on Thursday, November 6—he and his band will deliver selections of classic Genesis tunes and his best solos with tickets starting at $32.50.  Herald-News

REAL ESTATE NEWS

  • On Oct. 16, a ribbon-cutting ceremony marked the opening of Bays Towers, a 140-apartment building in downtown Joliet developed by John Bays that converted a former public housing project. Local coffee shops have seen more customers and one plans to open a second location inside the building — further upgrades are planned to improve the project.  Herald-News

  • Bolingbrook hosted Joliet West in a varsity girls volleyball match on Oct. 16—Joliet West's Lina Govoni tapped the ball over the net to help drive her team's play.  Herald-News
  • Joliet Township’s swim team won a 105-65 victory over Lemont at Inwood Athletic Club Thursday and honored seniors Erin Mosier, Alaina Potocki, and Ava Gombosi during senior night. Coach Nick Koenig said the seniors led the young team as they prepared for conference meets later in November.  Herald-News
