  • Serena boys soccer and boys golf’s Payton Twait was named The Times Athlete of the Week after winning an online poll with 100 of 206 votes and beating runner-ups from Ottawa, Streator and Newark. He said he will attend Joliet Junior College to major in agriculture.  Herald-News
  • Three local football teams—Bishop McNamara, Bradley-Bourbonnais, and Clifton Central—improved to a perfect 5–0 record last week, qualifying them for the playoffs and showing strong team play.   • Lincoln-Way East girls golf team won the 2A Rich Township Regional championship on Tuesday at Deer Creek Golf Course with a team score of 296 & junior Sophia Klapper claimed individual champion honors with a score of 70, the only player under par.
