ACCIDENTS NEWS

  • A 13-year-old on a motorized minibike was seriously injured when he failed to yield at the intersection of Elgin Avenue and Cayuga Street in Joliet Township on Sunday afternoon—he was taken to a local hospital.  ABC7 Chicago

SPORTS NEWS

  • Week 1 high school football games in the Suburban Life area ended with several close finishes, including Glenbard West’s 31 to 28 win over Batavia on a last-second field goal. Other games saw tight wins such as Downers Grove North’s 11 to 8 victory at Gately Stadium—key plays by Baker Glomb and Brock Phillip drove teams to victory.  Herald-News
  • Week 1 high school football games showed strong action across the county—Oswego beat Naperville Central 31—15 with Drew Kleinhans leading on both throws and runs, Oswego East won 41—0 over Joliet West with a 95-yard kickoff return, and Ottawa, Yorkville, and Manteno also secured wins with scores of 35—6, 14—7, and 54—30 respectively.  Herald-News
