Good morning, Joliet.

On Aug. 14, the Joliet Hall of Pride will induct six community champions—including groups from 2023, 2024 and 2025—at the Joliet Area Historical Museum, where a cocktail reception will begin at 5:30 p.m.; ticket reservations are due Friday.

The Joliet Area Historical Museum said there will be no Blues Brothers Con at the Old Joliet Prison this year and that a Blues Brothers Screening is planned in October to mark the movie’s 45th anniversary.

The museum said it will share more details soon — the change comes as it prepares for a nationwide U.S. Route 66 Centennial event in early 2026.

Gov. JB Pritzker signed a law to start annual mental health screenings in public schools beginning in fall 2027—experts will guide the Board of Education on the program while parents may opt out.
