Good morning, Joliet.

At about 3 a.m. Saturday, gunfire struck two homes on the east side of Joliet — residents reported hearing the shots but not seeing any suspects — and no one was injured, police said.

Taste of Joliet opened Friday, June 20 at Memorial Stadium with food vendors, multiple music acts, live entertainment and a carnival—events that mark the start of the city’s biggest summer festival.

The festival runs through today.

Billy Corgan and the Machines of God performed at the opening night of Taste of Joliet at Memorial Stadium on June 20 while drawing a large crowd.

The band energized the festival and set the tone for an exciting event.
