- ➤ The operator of the Grand Ballroom at Union Station in Joliet asked for a lease extension as it reported booking inquiries for weddings beyond January 31st, 2027 — city officials are reviewing five proposals to repurpose the former MyGrain space for a new restaurant. - ➤ PENN Entertainment announced its new Hollywood Casino at 1741 Rock Creek Boulevard in southwest Joliet is set to open on Aug. 11 pending regulatory approval, nearly six months ahead of schedule. The $185 million casino will feature 1,000 slot machines, 43 live table games including baccarat, a retail ESPN BET sportsbook, a 10,000-square-foot event center, and over 1,300 parking spaces—employing about 600 workers when it opens.
