- ➤ Minooka baker Susan Prieboy created the 2026 Farmstand Trail linking nine farm stands (in Will, Kendall, Grundy and Livingston counties) where customers who finish the passport by Aug. 1 will earn a free T-shirt. - ➤ Bisa Lina Cannabis Dispensary will host its grand opening today from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. at 2121 W. Jefferson St.—the former NAPA Auto Parts store—featuring live music, free food, giveaways, and even adoptable dogs. The dispensary was approved by city council in April and aims to boost local hospitality and art. Herald-News
- ➤ Harvest Deli by Fit Foundation in Crest Hill celebrated its 11th anniversary on May 13 with a ribbon-cutting and rebranding from Fit Foundation, and owner Angie Aegerter announced plans to expand its healthy product line in partnership with local businesses, with new items such as candles + teas coming soon. - ➤ An art festival showcased over 1,500 student pieces at Dirksen Junior High and Lynn Thigpen Elementary on May 16, featuring work from district schools and live music by school bands - the event also honored notecard winners during a board meeting on May 13. Herald-News

- ➤ Plainfield North led local track qualifiers by sending athletes to Saturday’s state finals, with teams from Lincoln-Way and other area schools earning spots (in Class 3A and Class 2A events). - ➤ Seneca won its first sectional championship on Friday, May 29 when Emma Mino hit a walk-off single that turned a one-run deficit into a 6-5 win over Beecher in the Class 2A Pontiac Sectional championship. Herald-News
- ➤ Lincoln-Way West won its first ever sectional title on Friday, May 29 with a 2-1 win over Lockport. Reese Rourke hit two home runs, and the Warriors will face Edwardsville at Illinois Wesleyan on Monday, Jun. 1 at 6:30 p.m. Herald-News
- ➤ Providence clinched its sectional title with a 2-0 shutout over Morris on Friday as Macie Robbins pitched a one-hit game and Bella Olszta set a school record with a stolen base. The team will face Dunlap on Monday at 6:30 at EastSide Centre. Herald-News
