CRIME NEWS

  • A woman allegedly sprayed salsa into a victim's eyes at Los Comales on April 25 — she faces charges of battery and aggravated battery after a warrant was issued on May 15.  FOX 32
  • A Homer Glen man, Steven Brady (40), was arrested on Monday and charged with threatening state Rep. Nicole La Ha, R-Lemont after Illinois State Police said an alleged threat was reported on May 16.  Herald-News

GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • The Senate passed a bipartisan resolution sponsored by Senator Dick Durbin to honor four American soldiers — including a Joliet native killed during a recovery mission in Lithuania between March 31 and April 1. The resolution now awaits House approval.  FOX 32

HEALTH NEWS

  • Senators Dick Durbin and Tammy Duckworth raised concerns on Wednesday about cuts to care at local hospitals after Prime Healthcare acquired them from Ascension — nurses at St. Joseph Medical Center in Joliet reported reduced services and other facilities saw significant changes. Some nurses held a town hall meeting at the Joliet library Wednesday evening to discuss the impact on patient care.  ABC7 Chicago
