- ➤ On April 14 the Zonta Club of the Joliet Area named Barbara Leiber Woman of the Year, and on April 24 it presented Ines Kutlesa, CEO of Guardian Angel Community Services, with the 2026 Woman of Distinction award, honoring both for their community contributions in Joliet. Herald-News
- ➤ Joliet Public Library will host Star Wars Day on June 6 starting with a parade of 100 costumed characters at 11 a.m. The route begins at the Will County Office Building and ends at the library Ottawa Branch — City Square will host kids’ games, artist alley and food vendors. Herald-News

- ➤ Willowbrook baseball won its 26th straight game against Lyons and set a record with its 27th win. Cannon Madej struck out 13 and drove in the game-winning run in an eight-inning win (in Lemont). Herald-News
