ACCIDENTS NEWS
- ➤ A child fell into a pool at 11:30 a.m. May 15 in the Deer Ridge Subdivision of Wilmington and died after first responders performed CPR and rushed him to St. Joseph’s Medical Center in Joliet — authorities are investigating the incident. FOX 32
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Joliet Township honored outgoing Trustee Ray Slattery on May 13th for his 20 years of service, with board members and employees praising his leadership and contributions. He said working with younger trustees was a valuable learning experience—an outlook that enriched his time on the board. Herald-News
- ➤ City officials presented the Downtown Joliet Equitable Transit Oriented Development Plan at an open house on May 14, where more than 100 residents learned about 73 action items—including moving City Hall, building multi-story housing near the Gateway Center, and revising zoning rules—to guide future downtown redevelopment.
