GOVERNMENT NEWS

  • Advocacy groups say Joliet's rapid data center expansion is raising concerns about environmental impact, limited community input and job creation. They urge local officials to consider stricter oversight as growth continues.  FOX 32
  • Starting Monday, lane closures will occur on Joliet’s I-80 bridges for routine inspections that will continue through May 23, weather permitting, according to IDOT. The closures run from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Monday through Thursday and Saturdays if needed, with one lane open each way.  Herald-News
  • The right lane of eastbound I-80 near Center Street is closed today for emergency repairs of a large pothole. The Illinois Department of Transportation advises drivers to use alternate routes during repairs — heavy congestion is expected until the concrete sets.  FOX 32
