- ➤ St. Joseph Catholic Church at 416 N. Chicago St. was illuminated with over 100 parish-funded accent lights on Wednesday, Apr. 22, brightening downtown and highlighting historic features ahead of its 135th anniversary; the church was also nominated for Joliet’s 2026 Historic Preservation Awards Program + the upgrade enhances nighttime safety. - ➤ IDOT will start replacing the bridge on Francis Road over I-80 in New Lenox today, weather permitting. The $5.3 million project closes Francis Road between Silver Cross Boulevard and Gordon Street — detouring traffic via Cedar Road, U.S. ROUTE 30 and Gougar Road, with work expected to finish in December.
