- ➤ Lockport Township High School District 205 superintendent Robert McBride will run the Boston Marathon on Monday as part of the CITGO community team. He received a surprise send-off Friday from teachers, staff, and students who gathered at the school to cheer him on. Herald-News

- ➤ On Friday, Wilmington softball won 6-1 against Joliet West. Taylor Stefancic hit two doubles and two RBIs while Molly Southall earned three hits (marking their 12th straight win). Herald-News
- ➤ Joliet West’s girls track team won their Salute to Military Invitational on Saturday in a competitive field while Joliet Central claimed the badminton title at Elk Grove Village using local talent and school spirit. Other local schools also competed in baseball, volleyball, and soccer events. Herald-News
- ➤ Minooka’s Rhett Harris hit a two-run single in the seventh inning that tied the game & sparked a 4-3 win over Lincoln-Way West on Friday. He said he trusted his instincts for the crucial hit. Herald-News
