Good morning, Joliet.

Joliet Public Schools District 86 is hosting open houses at Hufford and Gompers Junior Highs today from 10 a.m. to noon to preview new facilities before their old buildings are demolished — offering community members a chance to tour schools and support fundraiser efforts for classroom grants.

Caleb Christos of Joliet Central High School and Karina Murillo Ibarra of Joliet West High School won the CEO Pitch Competition by presenting their original business ideas to community leaders.

The event is part of a year-long program that builds confidence and real-world skills for future entrepreneurs.
