- ➤ Will County Brewing in Shorewood will close in April after 8 years of operation and will host a farewell event Saturday, April 18. The brewery cited rising costs and industry challenges (as noted on Facebook) while thanking patrons for their support. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Will County Board members risk jail time if they vote against solar project approvals ordered by the judge. The vote is rescheduled for Thursday at a hotel banquet room & it is expected to draw heated debate over the Pride of the Prairie plan. Herald-News
SPORTS NEWS
- ➤ Seneca baseball won 7-2 Saturday morning as Cam Shriey pitched five scoreless innings + a four-run first inning helped the Fighting Irish secure their third straight win over visiting Serena Huskers, lifting their record to 4-7 while Serena fell to 4-3. Herald-News
- ➤ At Saturday’s high school sports meets, BBCHS clinched wins in track relays at the TJ Shirley Blue Smoke Invite while Nevaeh Brown broke a 44-year record at Lincoln-Way Central. Local baseball and softball teams, including Bishop McNamara & Bradley-Bourbonnais, also posted strong results in regional competitions. Herald-News
- ➤ Bishop McNamara's softball team lost 16-6 to St- Laurence on Saturday, April 11 after errors let the Vikings score nine two-out runs, and coach Arseneau said her team will focus on small-ball fundamentals ahead of their next Chicagoland Christian Conference game. Herald-News
