- ➤ The Forest Preserve District of Will County purchased 106 acres near Bruce Road and Cedar Road around Messenger Woods on March 27, boosting its protected lands to over 24,000 acres. The district will extend the Spring Creek Greenway Trail to link nearby preserves as part of its Capital Improvement Program. Herald-News
