CRIME NEWS
- ➤ On Sunday at 4:10 p.m., Joliet police said 29-year-old Robert Burnett allegedly punched a driver after accepting a ride and hijacked his Nissan Rogue that was later linked to a hit-and-run crash in Crest Hill before he was taken to Will County jail. Herald-News
GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ Illinois and several states have sued the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services and its secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. over the termination of nearly $12 billion in public health grants that disrupted state programs like vaccine deliveries and lab testing — the lawsuit filed in Rhode Island seeks a temporary restraining order as it argues the cuts were unlawful since the funds were not tied to ending the COVID-19 pandemic.
