- ➤ William Shatner will appear on Oct. 29 at the Rialto Square Theatre in downtown Joliet for a Q&A session after a screening of Star Trek II: The Wrath of Khan. Tickets begin selling Friday at 10 a.m. (VIP seating includes a photo opportunity.) Herald-News

- ➤ Lane closures on Chicago Street between McDonough Street + Doris Avenue begin today as part of the Interstate 80 interchange reconstruction in Joliet, with one lane open for one month while temporary pavement is installed and ramp closures in April set work until 2028. Herald-News

- ➤ Bishop McNamara won its season opener 2-0 against Peotone on Monday, Mar. 23, as sophomore pitcher Joslynn Dole recorded a two-hit shutout with support from timely hits. Coach Arseneau expressed optimism for a season built on teamwork (a sign of strong camaraderie among players). Herald-News

- ➤ In Tuesday's local high school sports roundup, IC Catholic Prep clinched a nine-inning walk-off win over Timothy Christian while teams including Wheaton Academy, St. Francis and Benet secured key victories in baseball, soccer, softball and volleyball across the area. Herald-News
