- ➤ Romeoville will invite residents to join the Wyland Water Conservation Challenge from Apr. 1 through Apr. 30 by taking water-saving pledges online (daily prizes and a traveling trophy will be offered to the most water-wise community) as rising water levels prompt careful use of resources. - ➤ On Monday, Jackson Street will close at the rail crossing between Scott and State from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. + the closure may last up to 10 hours weather permitting for BNSF Railway repairs, and detour signage will guide drivers on alternate routes. Herald-News

- ➤ The La Salle-Peru football team revamped its nonconference schedule for 2026 by adding four new opponents – Lanphier, Wheaton Academy, Alton, and Marquette Academy.
