GOVERNMENT NEWS
- ➤ The Crest Hill Plan Commission approved the final plan on March 13 for a new fire and emergency training center proposed by the Lockport Township Fire Protection District, and the project will go before the City Council in April for final approval. The 13-acre site will include a repurposed shipping container structure and a gun range with sound barriers—cutting gunfire noise to 45 decibels—with bidding set to start this spring and construction expected to take one year at a cost of $16 million paid through bonds without raising taxes.
