  • On Feb. 24, the Joliet Region Chamber of Commerce and Industry honored six Joliet City Center Partnership partners at its 2026 Annual Dinner and Celebration of 2025 Success by awarding Rialto Square Theatre + five other local businesses for their contributions to the community.  Herald-News

CULTURE NEWS

  • Joliet West High School will present its spring musical 'Between the Lines' this weekend with shows scheduled for Friday at 7 p.m., Saturday at 7 p.m., and Sunday at 2 p.m. at the school auditorium at 401 N. Larkin Ave; tickets are $10 in advance and $15 at the door.  Herald-News

  • Governor JB Pritzker announced Wednesday that Illinois offers eligible first-time homebuyers up to $15,000 as a zero percent interest second mortgage to cover down payment and closing costs.   • A season preview for local softball teams highlights roster changes, new leadership and high expectations for Newark, Serena, Earlville, Somonauk/Leland, Woodland/Flanagan-Cornell, Dwight and Sandwich.   • The Bears signed left tackle Jedrick Wills Jr to fill the gap after starter Ozzy Trapilo hurt plus safety Kevin Byard joined New England, while Baltimore and Atlanta signed pass rusher Trey Hendrickson and former defensive tackle Chris Williams on one-year deals, setting up busy moves in free agency.  Herald-News
