- ➤ Joliet District 86 honored its annual spelling bee by naming Isaac Padilla of Forest Park Individual Education the winner and Israel Alarcon Carrillo of Isaac Singleton Elementary the runner-up. Top junior high spellers will compete in the regional bee at Lincoln-Way West High School in New Lenox in March. Herald-News

- ➤ The Workforce Center of Will County will close on Tuesday through March 1 for a move to its new facility. It will reopen Monday at 1300 Copperfield Ave. in Joliet & continue offering job and training services to local residents. Herald-News

- ➤ Silver Cross Hospital in New Lenox has named Sharon Zobel VP of patient care and chief nursing officer. Zobel, who served as interim chief nursing officer since July after joining as a nursing manager in 2020, brings three decades of experience & leadership from roles at Riverside and Palos Health.
