- ➤ Judy Easley, president of the Joliet NAACP, was honored with the Michael Austin Clark Community Leader Award at District 204’s State of the District event on Jan. 29 to acknowledge her 10 years of community service & leadership through MLK Day of Service and Head Start programs. Herald-News
- ➤ Hormel Foods donated $10,000 and Whole Foods Market donated $3,000 to Joliet’s nonprofit Yes, Together We Can, which helps residents with special dietary needs manage food insecurity. Founded by Paul Dickerson (a local clinical social worker) in November 2024, the group partners with local sponsors to offer tailored food support. Herald-News

- ➤ Local producer Larry Crawford’s annual production Stamped Into History! celebrates African American heritage with theater, music, dance, and storytelling — it runs free from Feb. 20-22 at Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre on Jefferson Street where the lobby opens early and free parking is available.
