- ➤ Mauve Cocktail Lounge in Shorewood, formerly Mauve Nosh and Libations, unveiled its new mythological Victorian-Baroque style on Jan. 16. - ➤ Lincoln-Way West won the IHSA Class 3A Rich Township Regional title on Saturday and advanced 10 wrestlers to sectionals, with Lincoln-Way Central and Lincoln-Way East also sending wrestlers — coach Brian Glynn said the team is set for further postseason action. Herald-News
- ➤ Braden Curran scored his 1,000th career point after receiving a pass from his twin during the boys' game at Hall High School and helped snap his team’s six-game losing streak with a 69-57 win over rival St. Bede on Saturday, Jan. 31. Herald-News
- ➤ The Joliet Catholic dance team won the IHSA Class 1A state title Saturday at Grossinger Motors Arena in Bloomington with a score of 92.28. The team, which included seniors, juniors and sophomores, was coached by Ava Tomich, Abi Voss & Camryn Whisenant. Herald-News
- ➤ Joliet West beat Lemont 58-45 Saturday at the Lincoln-Way Warrior Shootout. The Tigers earned their sixth win in a row as six players contributed points — a balanced team effort that drove their victory. Herald-News
- ➤ At Saturday’s regional tournament, Joliet Catholic wrestlers won seven championships and placed in nine finals, earning 254 points — 86.5 more than the runner-up after a season of matches against top teams that set them up for the postseason. Herald-News
