  • State Rep. Sheehan invites locals to send Valentines for Seniors cards to lift the spirits of seniors living in care facilities. Residents can drop off cards at his district office — 15746 S. Bell Road in Homer Glen — from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. on weekdays until Feb. 9.  Herald-News

BUSINESS NEWS

  • A Jack in the Box (known for its quick service) will replace the former Arby’s at 2307 W. Jefferson St. after a new sign was spotted on Tuesday, Jan. 13; the restaurant will open soon to offer its familiar menu in Joliet.  Herald-News

EDUCATION NEWS

  • Joliet Catholic Academy will induct five alumni into its 2026 Hall of Champions for their achievements in business and industry. The ceremony will be held at 5 p.m., Thursday, Feb. 26 at the Jacob Henry Mansion — tickets cost $50 per person.  Herald-News

SPORTS NEWS

  • The Herald-News has released this week’s high school sports schedule, covering basketball, wrestling, swimming, and bowling events from today through Saturday at local venues (details vary by team).  Herald-News
