- ➤ Menards stores in Joliet, Crest Hill, Plainfield, Homer Glen, Bolingbrook, Morris, and Yorkville are collecting nonperishable food and hygiene items for local pantries until March 31. The food drive supports St. John’s, Plainfield Interfaith, FISH Food, Operation Christmas, We Care, and Kendall County Food Pantries (each store features a collection box). Herald-News

- ➤ The Wendy’s restaurant at 110 S. Larkin Ave has closed, and its 2,842 sqft drive-thru building is now for sale in move-in-ready condition. Built in 1977 on a .72 acre parcel, it is one of three Wendy’s locations in Joliet while the others remain open. Herald-News

- ➤ On Saturday, Lockport boys basketball won by 40 points as Nedas Venckus scored 25 points, reported in a local sports roundup. Lincoln-Way Central, Joliet Catholic, and other high schools also recorded significant wins in basketball and wrestling (roundup details). Herald-News
- ➤ The Bears rallied in a wild card playoff game Saturday night at Soldier Field to secure a 31-27 win over the Packers — it was their seventh fourth-quarter comeback of the season. They will await their next opponent after Sunday’s game between the 49ers and Eagles determines the matchup in Chicago. Herald-News
- ➤ Providence Catholic forced overtime with Curtis Stubbs’ buzzer putback and won 68-65 against Marquette on Saturday night, extending its win streak to three. Herald-News
