- ➤ Kendall Area Transit will offer 363 extra rides for seniors and others after its Adopt-A-Rider Fundraiser raised $1,087 (Nov. 17-Dec. 31). The service covers Kendall County and designated areas including Joliet and Plainfield, providing needed transportation. Herald-News

- ➤ Joliet Public Schools District 86 holds its second meeting today at 6 p.m. at Issac Singleton Elementary to discuss the potential closure of Marshall Elementary next year. Officials will review declining enrollment and performance data before a final board decision on Feb. 11. Herald-News
